These are examples of past rugs.
All are made with used t shirts or knit garments.
They are 100% recycled!
Any can be made to your liking.
Exact color requests may not be possible as I use all "retired" materials.
They are wonderful, absorbent, WASHABLE creations.
added5/2/11This was created for the 2010 World Equestrian Games Held in Lexington Ky near me.
I call it WEG Wannabe.
measures about 24"x26"
added 5/2/11Quilt pattern Tumbling Blocks
Turn it and you will still see the stepped pattern!about 24"x 24"
added 5/2/11Here is a Porch Doily

Added 5/2/11
Blue and White Color Wheel
This is the same pattern ans the Kaleidoscope below which was drawn on graph paper with a compass.
It is worked in 2 parts beginning at the center line. measures about 28" across the middle.
Added 2/27/11Gorgeous Macaw!
This one is huge measuring 22" x 44". It is based on an enlarged cross stitch pattern.
Card Suit Potholders
This neat set of 4 potholders measures about 8"x9" each. No two have the same color placement.
Pile of Triangles is a scrap rug. I started adding bits and pieces of leftovers as I went.
I have also done these in a triangle shape...got to have the right space for it, though.
Measures 24'x20'
My latest Favorite! I call it Kaleidoscope.
It was designed by drawing a pattern on graph paper with a compass.
Using fewer colors would have been easier but I LOVE the color wheel effect this shows.
Measures about 24" across the widest part.
Another is in the works!
A green Fade to Center this time. Borders colors were used to add some interest through the middle (and because it was going to turn out rectangle and I wanted a square...)
Measures about 25"x25"
Here is another example of Dutchman's Puzzle, this time in pastels and subdued tie dye.
Measures 24"x 24"
Card Tricks times 4.
This is quite large as a result of using a quilt in
a 4 square pattern.
Measures 38"x 38"
Two Cute!
2 kitties with color patches grace this large rug.
measure about 20"x 24".
Dutchman's Puzzle quilt Pattern
this one is also larger, about 24"x24"and includes 3 tie dyed t shirts which work really nice.
Windblown Squares quilt pattern in orange and yellow.Quilt squares are nice because you can change the length and width by adding squares.
My favorite example isFalling Leaves.
This is totally my imagination. I drew up the leaves on graph paper and used muted colors. It measures a bit smaller at 18" x 18".
Falling Leaves 2 uses the same leaf idea but a bit cheerier colors and measures about the same.
Mare in the Meadow was made to sell, but my parents loved it so much that it became a gift. Quite a bit bigger at 24"x 30" I think it is the largest I have made.
I love the DENIM ones! This is a very thick one, about 1/2 inch!
It was made with some braided belting that was unraveled and then washed to soften. large about 20"x20".
Small but cute, this Orca was fun to make.It might measure 14"x14". I will attempt another one but much larger.
Happy Cat has rounded corners and is perfect for under your pets dishes. Measures about 15"x15".
An abstract called Red Line. This was how I started out... with just abstract designs, usually geometrical. they are fun and use up some of the odd leftovers.
Churn Dash quilt patternThe pink ruler tells you that it measure just over 2'x 1'.
Similar colors were used on each side and lights and darks were rearranged for contrast.
Huge Hand Prints!!The prints were intended to be actual size but turned out about 9 inches long.
rug is about 1 1/2 x 2 ft.
Rainbow Half CircleFits great in front of a sink or in the bathroom.
Bright primary colors were used here but so many variations can be made.
Measures about 2 ft long.
Kentucky Born in red
I live in Kentucky so of course there are horses. This one measures about 18x18 inches. This one was purchased locally and now resides in a home nearby!
Kentucky Born in green
Same pattern as above but with a nice green background.
the 2 tone mane makes it very appealing.
Stepped Blocks in black, white and gray.
This quilt pattern was draw out on graph paper first. It was a tricky one, though.
measures about 18"x 18".
Some pot holdersI am sorry these are hard to see.
There are:
2 quilt patterns, snail trail and card tricks
A checker board
And a cow pattern just for kicks.
Fade to CenterMy latest favorite!
It is a quilt pattern. I just made them all get lighter toward the middle. I want to do another with them all darker in the center...
measures about 22x22 inches.
The following 7 added Jan 1, 2010
Another Fade Quilt Pattern
(I think it is a variation of Log Cabin), this one is only 2 blocks that fade in opposite directions. It is smaller, of course about 14 x 22.
Here is Churn Dash again but 3 blocks long in related colors. This one is over 3 ft long and about 14" wide.
this nice Remnant Rug used up a lot of my odd leftovers.
It is very wide and since I am TERRIBLE at round edges... it has the 6 corners.
Measures about 24 wide by 28 long.
This one is a Porch Doily. The book called for macrame cord so it worked up smaller then planned. But it is beautiful!
Measures about 18" across.
Isn't this great?!
A cute little Fire Truck crossstitch pattern was doubled in size and became this. For an explanation on how to do that, click here and scroll down to the crosstitch section. measures about 14 x 24.
Another Happy Cat face. the colors are more teal than they show here. This one has a wider border then the previous one.
Measures about 17x 17.
This2 Cat Rug is a bit better example. In the previous one I was running out of a color and made the head of the left one smaller. The background in this one is more uniform also. I had several shirts that were very close to the same color.
About 24" x 24".
Stay tuned for more...
